For all you bloggers out there I'm sure you can relate to how hard it can be to title your posts! I think I should title them all with just a simple "Hi" and be be done with it, but where's the creativity in that, lol. Ok, on to my card. This is another vintage style card, or maybe more aged than vintage. Father's Day is not too far away and I need something to send to both my father and my father in law. I purchased the Sense of Time set a while ago and I find it lends really well to aged or vintage cards. This card is similar to the first vintage card I made last week, I sponged the card with Soft Suede and distressed the edges. The focal piece is done with the cracked glass technique which also seemed to go well with the aged look. Hi everyone! Do you ever wish you could freeze time but not yourself? These days I certainly do, my poor garden isn't even planted yet, although it will get planted within the next week. Or should I say, it BETTER get planted next week, lol. We're in for another rainy weekend, I love rain but we had so many plans and those all get changed now...again. And I think that's probably enough whining for today :D. I saw this card on Deb's blog, you'll find it on my blog list (Creations by Debbie) and loved it and thought it would be great for my club ladies. I love how just a simple white crayola crayon can create such a neat effect! You take a white crayon and highlight where ever you want the white to show through, you will need to use glossy cardstock. Then simply sponge the colours you want over it and wipe with a paper towel, the ink will have resisted the areas you coloured with the crayon. Cool, huh?! Well, if you hadn't guessed it by now, I love this new stamp set, lol. There are so many ways to use it which is probably why I love it so much! We made this card last night at our club workshop and I just love how easy it is to ruffle the ribbon, I think my club members were just grateful that they wouldn't have to tie another ribbon, lol. What a beautiful hot day it is today! The kids are outside playing on their "Slip n Slide" and their new water guns so that gave me some time to try a new card style today. I've seen quite a bit of vintage cards lately and thought maybe it was time to try it as well. I used Soft Suede ink and sponged it on the both pieces, then stamped the images. To get the worn edges I just use the edge of my scissors and tear the paper in a few spots. I also added some of the new smooch spritz to the corners. So my daughter turns six tomorrow and we had her birthday party today with her school friends. 10 six year old girls, all battling to sit next to the birthday girl, lol. Our daughter is turning into quite the stamper and so she had a lot of say in how she wanted her invitations to be made and she eagerly helped me to prepare the favour bags. Aren't these little purses just so stinkin' cute! I didn't add any bling to them for the party but these could really be stepped up a notch by adding accessories. And they're made with paper lunch bags so your costs stay minimal which is nice when you're already spending so much for a kids party. This card just really did not want to be made, lol. From start to finish I had trouble, my "grass" looks odd because I've got these long sections that came because I used an older ink pad which is a little dented in the middle. When I stamped the tree it looked a little to light so I used my blender pen and black ink to fill it in, well it looked horrible, but after some brainstorming I stamped it again with versamark and added black embossing powder, that made it look much better. But never mind that my fingers kept smudging everything I touched. But finally when I think the card is done, all mistakes are kind of covered, I look over at it while watching TV with my husband and I start to laugh. The card won the battle after all. You'll notice there's a water reflection for the tree, the grass but not for the sun or the plants in front of the sun. So now the sun only exists in the sky but cannot be seen in the reflection, lol what can you do but laugh at yourself!...

I think I better start using some stamp sets that haven't seen ink yet, but what can I say, I like this set! Lol. But I'm not sure that I like this card all that much, I saw this card a while ago and love how clean and simple the card looked. But as it often goes when casing, the original looks better. Live and learn, well hopefully learn!
